“High school graduation rates are not increasing because of broad national economic, social, and demographic trends. Rather the constellation of leadership, reforms, and multi-sector efforts at state, district, and school levels drive this progress” (Building a Grad Nation report).
CSUSM and K-12 districts in the university’s service region share a commitment to enhancing student success. With an interest in expanding and enhancing student experiences, the university and partner districts have developed a mutual agreement in which K-12 districts provide their students with a rigorous program of study and meaningful learning experiences and the university provides a guarantee of enrollment and a compendium of experiences designed to support college perseverance and success. For students in K-12 who want to attend CSUSM, the Checklist of Alliance Participation Requirements, will provide a list of requirements in our partner school disctricts for students grades 9-12.
In addition to having Guaranteed Admission Agreements (partnerships) with ten local school districts, CSUSM also has agreements with sovereign governments and other educational agencies. These agreements establish explicit benchmarks for student participation and performance. Students who meet these benchmarks and meet all minimum CSU eligibility requirments are guaranteed admission to CSUSM.
