Cesar Chavez Day of Service - Friday, March 31, 2017, 8-2:30

We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community...
Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others,
for their sakes and for our own.
-César Chávez

Each year the campus community is invited to take part in this day of service to honor the life and legacy of civil rights activist César Chávez. CSUSM’s César Chávez Day of Service will coincide with César Chávez Day, a state holiday held in remembrance of the late founder of the United Farm Workers Union and pioneer in the struggles for fair wages and humane working conditions for farm workers and their families. Chávez is revered as one of the greatest American civil rights leaders.

Our César Chávez Day of Service will take place Friday, March 31, 2017. For more information contact Catalina Langen, Civic Learning Coordinator at clangen@csusm.edu.

Individuals with disabilities who would like to attend this event, please contact clangen@csusm.edu regarding any special accommodation needs at least seven working days in advance. Every reasonable effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations.
