    Student Leadership and Engagement

A college experience would not be complete without student leadership and engagement. If you are part of your current school's student government and student organizations and would continue to develop your leadership skills, join us for this session. Join Campus Recreation, the Student Leadership and Involvement Center, the University Student Union and Veteran Services as they share how they help students get involved.

    • Campus Recreation is dedicated to promoting holistic wellness and enriching the CSUSM experience by providing inclusive recreational services, facilities and opportunities.
    • The Student Leadership & Involvement Center (SLIC) is a place where students can learn about their interests and strengths, develop leadership skills, and lead your peers, campus, and community.  If you’re interested in joining a fraternity or sorority, growing as a leader through our Leadership Programs, or participating in one of our 130+ student organizations, SLIC provides inclusive spaces, programming, and co-curricular learning opportunities that help to cultivate the Tukwut Experience.  Join student leaders from a variety of involvements to learn the value of getting engaged and how it has supported them throughout their student life journey at CSUSM.
    • The University Student Union (USU) is the largest student-centered building on campus and considered by many as “the heartbeat of CSUSM.” The USU features a variety of event spaces, lounges, and student service areas. Join some of our USU Student Employees while they share stories of our traditional offerings as well as our current virtual programs and activities that highlight the vibrancy and uniqueness of student life at CSUSM.
    • Veterans Services is home to our military-connect students (11% of our campus population!) to include student veterans, active-duty, reserves, spouses, and dependents.
