Other Scholarships Opportunities

  • African American Scholarship: One $950 award to an African American student with a 3.0 or higher GPA and financial need.
  • American Association of University Women (AAUW): Requirements include minimum 3.0 gpa, 24 units completed, North San Diego County resident, STEM or nursing major. Deadline is March 8, 2017. Details and application online.
  • American Society Naval Engineers: Awarded to students pursuing an education and career in naval engineering.  See Naval Engineers Flyer for more details on how to apply.
  • ASI American Indian in Honor of Lee Dixon Scholarship: One $1000 award for a tribally enrolled American Indian student.
  • Bree Tinney Re-entry Scholarship: One $150 scholarship is awarded to a female undergraduate student who is a single parent resuming her studies after an extended break.
  • Cal Coast Cares Foundation: College bound high school seniors or college students who are in or have been in the foster care program. 2.5-4.0 GPA
  • Carol Cox Re-Entry Scholarship: One award at $600 for a female student who has re-entered a degree program after a break in her education, who is enrolled in at least 6 units each semester.
  • College Students with Disabilities: disABLEDperson, Inc. awards $2,000 to college student enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited college in the U.S.
  • GoodCall: GoodCall integrates data and technology to make finding scholarships easier for students and families.  Over 7,000 awards available
  • Ina Mae Akinson Scholarship: One award each semester (fall and spring) at $600 each to undergraduate female students who are at least 30 years old, and have experienced an interruption in their education.
  • Jane Lynch Scholarship: One $300 scholarship is awarded to a non-U.S. citizen, but is in the U.S. progressing toward permanent residency, proof of progress is required.
  • Jeremy Gabriel Mancilla Memorial Scholarship: One scholarship for $500 will be awarded to a Latina or Latino student, who must be a high school senior during the current Spring, from either San Marcos or Twin Oaks High School.
  • Michelle's Place, Breast Cancer Resource Center: Multiple scholarships offered to students who have been impacted by cancer.  Review Michelle's Place Flyer for more information and how to apply.
  • Murrietta Circuits ScholarshipFor the 2017 Spring Semester, Murrietta Circuits will be offering a $500 scholarship to a Student Veteran and/or Child Of A Veteran, who writes a winning essay on their college experience in a STEM related field.
  • Student Philanthropy Fund: Scholarships awarded to students with a minimum 3.00 GPA. Available to all undergraduate students with financial need and enrolled full-time.
  • The San Diego Foundation: Common scholarship application opens December 1, 2016.  Over $2 million in awards goes to 800 local students.  Open to students of all backgrounds, interests and needs.
  • Thomas M. Wahlund Memorial Scholarship: One scholarship awarded to a student with a minimum 2.50 G.P.A., majoring in the sciences, with priority given to students who are majoring in Biological Sciences.  Financial need is considered.  Thomas M. Wahlund Application forms are available in Cougar Central.
  • Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship: Nursing students with minimum 3.0 cumilative GPA. To be considered, review the Nursing Scholarship Criteria and Structure document, then complete the Nursing Scholarship Application.  If you are a college student pursuing a medical career, review the Medical Career Eligibility Criteria and Structure document, then complete the Medical Career Application.
