Admissions

The Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program at CSUSM is designed as a transfer program.

Students must have met the Lower Division General Education requirements* prior to enrolling in this program (see table below). Please see the General Education Worksheet for SLP for specific recommended coursework.

Transfer Student Admissions

Applicants who have completed fewer than 60 transferable semester college units (fewer than 90 quarter units) are considered lower-division transfer students. Applicants who have completed 60 or more transferable semester college units (90 or more quarter units) are considered upper-division transfer students.

Upper Division Requirements

  • Have completed, with a grade of C- or better, a course in oral communication (A1) written communication (A2), critical thinking (A3) and a course in mathematics or quantitative reasoning (B4)
  • Have no more than 3 remaining lower division courses needed to meet general education and/or graduation requirements.

Lower Division Requirements

  • Have completed, with a grade of C- or better, a course in oral communication (A1) written communication (A2), critical thinking (A3) and a course in mathematics or quantitative reasoning (B4)
  • Have no more than 3 remaining lower division general education courses to complete upon starting at CSUSM.

Prep to the Major Requirements

Once admitted to the program, students must also complete 15-units of lower-division preparatory coursework prior to the start of the major. CSUSM offers the 15-units of preparatory coursework in the first semester of this program.
