Prep Program Costs

The SLP Preparation Program offers a Cohort-based program. Once accepted as a SLP Prep Cohort member, students receive priority enrollment for each semester and are eligible for financial aid. Non-Cohort students are not eligible for financial aid. For the Spring 2021 SLP Prep Cohort application, there is a mandatory $55 Program application fee which includes the costs of applying through Extended Learning and the University.

Students will enroll in each course once registration is available.

Effective Fall 2020: The cost for each course is $349 per unit plus mandatory semester fees identified below. This cost applies to both Cohort and non-Cohort students. 33 units total are required to complete the SLP Prep program (lesser units required if courses have been previously met at a different institution).

Effective Fall 2024: The cost for each course is $370 per unit plus mandatory semester fees identified below. This cost applies to both Cohort and non-Cohort students. 33 units total are required to complete the SLP Prep program (lesser units required if courses have been previously met at a different institution).

Payment Options

There are several options to pay for your courses and fees.

  1. Apply for the CSUSM Payment Plan through the Student Financial Services website.
  2. If you intend to seek financial aid, it is recommended you submit your FAFSA application as soon as possible.

For the SLP Prep Cohort program, a student would apply for:

  • 2022/2023 FAFSA for Spring and Summer (Semester #1 & 2)
  • 2023/2024 FAFSA will apply to the Fall (Semester #3)
