Open Forum Information and Bios

  • Dr. Albert Liddicoat - Thursday, March 5, Noon-12:50pm, Arts 240

     Dr. Albert Liddicoat currently serves as the vice provost of Academic Affairs and Personnel as well as the interim dean for the Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Dr. Liddicoat joined Cal Poly in 2002 and, in 2006, was appointed as the assistant vice president for Academic Personnel at Cal Poly, later becoming the vice provost for Academic Affairs and Personnel. Dr. Liddicoat earned a B.A. in Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering, and a M.S. degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University. Dr. Liddicoat developed and taught several graduate courses and labs in Computer Engineering and Digital Systems.
  • Dr. Rafik Mohamed - Tuesday, March 10, Noon-12:50pm, Arts 240

    Dr. Rafik Mohamed has served as the dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) since 2015. Before he joined CSUSB, Dr. Mohamed served as chair of the Department of Social Sciences at Clayton State University and was also department chair at the University of San Diego. A veteran administrator, educator and author, Dr. Mohamed holds a B.A. in sociology and criminal justice from George Washington University, as well as a master’s in social ecology and a Ph.D. in criminology, law and society, from the University of California, Irvine.
  • Dr. Amy Bippus - Thursday, March 12, Noon-12:50pm, Arts 240

    Dr. Amy Bippus is the vice provost at Cal State Los Angeles, a role she has held since 2015. Prior to that she was the associate dean of Enrollment Management and Outreach in the College of Liberal Arts at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). She has also previously served as chair of the Department of Communication Studies at CSULB. A native of Pittsburgh, she earned her B.A. at Pennsylvania State University, her M.A. at Wake Forest University, and her Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin. She has an active research record in the area of conflict management, interpersonal humor and instructional communication.
  • Dr. Carl Kemnitz - Thursday, March 26, Noon-12:50pm, Virtual

    Dr. Carl Kemnitz is currently the senior vice provost for Academic Affairs at San Jose State University (SJSU). Prior to joining SJSU, Kemnitz served in a variety of faculty and administrative roles at California State University, Bakersfield, including associate vice president for Academic Programs, dean of Undergraduate Studies, dean of Graduate Studies, associate dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, chair of the Department of Chemistry, and director for several successful STEM diversity programs. Dr. Kemnitz holds a B.S. in chemistry with a minor in philosophy from Occidental College in Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Washington.
