Staff Appreciation aNd Development Committee (SAND)

SAND is a Presidential Initiative that serves all staff campus-wide. The SAND Committee was established within Academic Affairs in 2000 to develop the following programs as a benefit to all staff:

  • Staff development: to offer and promote professional growth opportunities
  • Staff recognition/appreciation: to promote collegiality and recognize individuals for their work and efforts
  • Social activities: to host social events to network with colleagues, building camaraderie among staff and departments

Who is SAND?

The SAND Committee includes members of the staff community from across campus. Members assist with the planning, hosting, and marketing of SAND events and opportunities. SAND is a group of likeminded individuals with a commitment to Campus Climate and making CSUSM a place where people love to come to work.

Learn more about the current committee members here, and to learn more about SAND and its programming, refer to the latest edition of the SAND Newsletter.
