Teaching credential program

So you want to become an arts teacher?

Are you an arts major and interested in becoming an arts teacher? There is a pathway for you!

You can go into a multiple subject credential program to obtain your credential to teach K-8 and have a supplemental authorization to teach your arts discipline!

If you currently hold a Single Subject or Multiple Subject credential issued by the California Commission you may be able to secure an additional supplementary authorization; Including Dance, Music, and Visual Arts. This supplementary authorization will allow you to teach the art curriculum that is typically included in the curriculum guidelines and textbooks approved by your district. This allows an employer to assign a teacher with an introductory supplementary arts authorization to teach a class in which the curriculum is for grades 9 and below but the students in the class may be in grades K-12.
