Transfer Important Deadlines

Spring Term Admission:

  • August 1 - September 30: Apply to CSUSM at Cal State Apply 
  • October 1 - March 2: File your FAFSA 
  • October 15: Initial document deadline - submit all official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance)
  • December 1: Deadline to submit your Intent to Enroll and non-refundable $150 deposit
  • January 15: Deadline to submit final official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance) with summer grades. NOTE: This is not a postmarked deadline. Documents must be received on, or before, this deadline.

Fall Term Admission:

  • October 1 - June 15: Apply to CSUSM at Cal State Apply (Please note: Nursing program closed on November 30, 2023, Biological Sciences (all options) & Second Bachelor programs closed on December 15, 2023, and Business Administration (all options) closed on March 15, 2024
  • October 1 - March 2: File your FAFSA 
  • Document deadlines vary depending on your application date; please review your Student Center in MyCSUSM for your specific deadline
      • February 15: Initial document deadline - submit all official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance)- Students who applied by December 31
      • March 15: Initial document deadline - submit all official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance)- Students who applied in January
      • April 30: Initial document deadline - submit all official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance)- Students who applied between February and April 26
      • May 15: Initial document deadline - submit all official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance)- Students who applied between April 26 and May 15
      • June 1: Initial document deadline - submit all official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance)- Students who applied after April 26. Students who applied after April 26 are strongly encouraged to submit all official documents as soon as possible (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance) in order to facilitate enrollment for the fall semester and avoid cancelation of the application.

Students who applied after May 31 must submit transcripts and test scores as soon as possible, but no later than July 15. Official transcripts must be final and include all final grades for purposes of admission.

  • June 1: Deadline to submit your Intent to Enroll and non-refundable $150 deposit - Students who applied by April 26
      • Students who applied after April 26 have 30 days from the date they were admitted to submit Intent to Enroll and non-refundable $150 deposit
  • July 15: Deadline to submit final official documents (transcripts, test scores, letters of non-attendance) with spring grades.  NOTE: This is not a postmarked deadline. Documents must be received on, or before, this deadline.
