ACE Scholars Services is a one-of-a-kind program that provides support to former foster youth pursuing their college degree. ACE Scholars Services serves more former foster youth per capita than any other university in the nation and prides itself on its high rate of student retention, which exceeds the national average by 36 points. A newly established center, gifted by supporters Jan and Esther Stearns, gives ACE Scholars a place to call home on campus.

The mission of The Black Student Center is to promote the academic, cultural, social, and political consciousness of students of African descent by actively engaging in institutional partnerships that will result in the overall increase of student recruitment, active member participation, retention, and graduation rates.

The California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center (CICSC) is the first of its kind in the state of California and focuses on serving the unique needs of American Indian students by conducting original research and preserving the cultural heritage and languages of tribal communities.
The CICSC facilitates a sense of community and belonging among the Native population both on and off campus. It prepares students to give back to their tribal communities upon graduation.

CROSS CULTURAL CENTER
As the first of the Student Life Centers established at CSUSM in 2003, the Cross-Cultural Center encourages identity exploration by challenging students to think critically about social justice issues and appreciate differences. Our programs promote the development of cultural intelligence, examine various forms of activism, and train students for campus leadership, community engagement, and social change. We create a space for marginalized communities to belong and support efforts for them to achieve their fullest potential for academic success.
APIDA
APIDA is the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Faculty & Staff Association on the campus of California State University San Marcos.
Its mission is to address and act on behalf of the needs of those who identify as Asian, Pacific Islander, and/or Desi on campus, promote professional development of its members by fostering fellowship and cooperation among members, and to serve the community of Asians, Pacific Islanders, and Desis through cultural activities and education.

The Latinx Center provides programming and services that are relevant and responsive to Latin@/x student needs. We serve as a resource to the campus community. We celebrate and enhance the understanding of our vast and extensive Latinx culture.
The Latinx Center is grounded on community building standards deriving from “Familismo” principals and operates from a Latinx Critical Theoretical lens. We educate students and campus members about Latinx traditions, culture, and issues impacting the community. The center serves as a connection point to multiple internal and external networks aimed at providing systems of support for Latin@/x identifying students. These center standards foster positive transformational experiences and contribute to Latin@/x student success goals.

Building on second-wave feminism’s creed of “the personal is political,” we are guided by principles of intersectional feminism: we recognize that while all women experience oppression, we also all experience oppression in varying forms based on race, age, class, gender, sexuality, dis/ability, etc. With that in mind, we want everyone at the Gender Equity Center to feel supported, included, and represented.
The GEC is intentionally inclusive of transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender non-conforming folks. The GEC is also proud to provide an array of survices to students. Please visit us to learn more about the Women and Gender Equity Center!

Dr. Judy Bauerlein will host an open rehearsal of our spring production: Failure: A Love Story! CSUSM Theatre provides a solid educational experience for the development of theatre artists from diverse backgrounds. We foster creative and academic excellence through the practical application of acquired skills, inclusive historical frameworks, and global theoretical teachings.
Our curriculum centers on embodied practice, social justice, collaboration, critical thinking and career preparation.
