CSUSM's Center for Research and Engagement in STEM Education is pleased to offer multiple
camp weeks this summer in our STEMbassy classroom at CSUSM, as well as one week on
our CSUSM Temecula campus.
STEMbassy Making Camps, 4th-8th grade
Our STEM Making Camps are geared toward 4th-8th graders and will include daily STEM
design challenges and demos covering topics from circuitry, engineering, game design,
coding, robotics, 3D modeling, and more! For those looking for a longer camp day,
our San Marcos camp attendees now have the option to add on an additional two hours
(12:00-2:00PM) following our regular 9:00AM - 12:00PM day. Afternoons will include
CSUSM campus tours and activities such as frisbee golf, rocket launches, free choice
STEM activities, and more! No two camp weeks are the same, so those signing up for
multiple are ensured a unique experience each day. Camps are based on our successful
after-school programs running at 19 sites throughout the North County.
This year, we are excited to offer our first ever STEM Making Camp at CSUSM's MSJC
Temecula Valley Campus, located at 41888 Motor Car Parkway. For those in the Temecula
region, we hope to see you this summer!
We are excited to offer our first ever NASA Aerospace Academy camp for students entering
8th-12th grade. Focusing on lunar exploration, participants will learn about the conditions
on the moon, work in groups to build and code lunar rovers, and create custom 3D-printed
wheel designs in order to tackle a sandbox incline challenge at the end of the week.
This is hands-on learning at its best. We'll even reserve some time for a campus tour,
a visit to labs, and other CSUSM fun. This camp is based on the successful after-school
NASA Aerospace Academy operating at five local high schools.
This camp is valued at over $400, but with generous support from NASA, we are pleased
to be able to offer it for only $49 this summer.
