Disabling Duo Telephone Callback Method

Due to an increase in successful phishing attacks in recent months, we will be disabling the Duo telephone callback method for logging in to CSUSM services on June 24th, 2024. Attackers use the telephone callback method as their primary method of compromising CSUSM accounts.

Starting June 24th, 2024, you must use one of these alternatives to log in with Duo:

  • Duo Mobile app: Download it on your smartphone or tablet and use it to approve or deny login requests. You can also use it offline. Download the Duo Mobile app for iOS and Android.
  • Hardware authenticator: Get it for free from the campus Helpdesk and use it to generate passcodes for Duo. Visit the campus Helpdesk in Kellogg Hall to obtain an authenticator.

If you don't switch to one of these options by June 24th, 2024, you will not be able to log in to CSUSM services.
