Campus Workstation Ergonomics
Overview
- In general, the ergonomic process begins after an employee (or their Department) recognizes the need to improve their physical posture or campus/on-site workstation situation.
- CSUSM’s assessment procedures were developed in a manner to address ways to help prevent or mitigate ergonomic problems within an office environment.
Ergonomic Evaluations
- To assist CSUSM employees with accomplishing their duties in a safe working environment,
SH&S performs ergonomic evaluations.
- On-site evaluations are scheduled on specific days (normally Mondays and Wednesdays).
- Employees are provided with a report, which summarizes the ergonomic issues identified in their workspace. Observations are explained in the report, along with recommendations/suggestions that employees may discuss with their supervisor.
- Employees desiring an evaluation at their on-site location may take the following steps:
