International Faculty and Staff Association (IFSA)

Membership

Who can Become a Member of IFSA?

Membership of the IFSA is open to any member of our CSUSM community who shares and supports our mission. As an association, our mission is to “support, celebrate, and advocate for international faculty and staff at CSUSM and promote global awareness and global competence among members of our university community”. 

As such, membership is not exclusive to those who identify as “international faculty and staff” but is extended to those who support our cause and mission whom we call “friends.” Please, consider becoming a member of IFSA. We receive and process membership applications from faculty, staff, and friends all year round. 

How to Become a Member of IFSA

Our membership application includes a 2-step process:

Step 1: Fill the membership application form:

Step 2: Pay member Dues:

Every faculty or staff who wants to be a member of IFSA is expected to pay a membership due of $20 per academic year while friends of IFSA are expected contribute $10 per fiscal year. Please, choose a payment option from the list below:

  1. Go to: Cashnet - San Marcos
  2. Select IFSA Enter $ amount. $20 full voting membership or $10 friends
  3. Review basket and proceed to check out. 
  4. Enter your name and select a reason for payment (Membership, Donation, etc.)
  5. Enter your form of payment. 
  6. Review and confirm the information, then click “Submit Payment."

Please mail your check made payable to "CSUSM Foundation" with “IFSA, Membership” on the memo to the following address:

Cash

Cash payments can be given to IFSA Treasurer Teru Toyokawa or deposited at the Cashier’s office at CSUSM.

What is expected of you as a member

As a faculty and staff member, you are encouraged to: 

  • Attend our monthly meetings and events. 
  • Volunteer for committee work 
  • Contribute to advancing our mission with your expertise and skills.
