The internship is a 2000-hour, 12-month internship beginning August 2023. Interns
will collect at least 1500-hours of Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) as defined
by the California Board of Psychology.
The salary for the intern for the training year, August 2, 2023 through July 30, 2024, is $36,000.
Time-off includes vacations and sick time accrued monthly in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), one personal holiday per calendar year, and major holidays observed by the
university. Additional time off must be approved by the SHCS Director of Counseling
& Psychological Services/Training Director. Vacation time must be requested at least

At California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) Student Health and Counseling Services
(SHCS), interns are considered Non-Exempt employees of the CSU, eligible for full
and comprehensive benefits. Specifics of medical, dental, vision, COBRA, disability

development relevant to the work they do at SHCS, granted upon approval from the Director
of Counseling & Psychological Services and Executive Director of SHCS.
