How to Apply to the LVN to BSN Program

LVN to BSN applicants apply to the Traditional Bachelor of Science (TBSN) program in Cal State Apply. Steps are as follows: 

Step One

Between October 1st – November 30th, 2022

Submit an application along with the $70 application fee to CSUSM through Cal State Apply.  Choose the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (TBSN) as the major you want to apply to. LVN students join a cohort of TBSN students each Fall. You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been submitted. Please refer to the CSUSM Office of Admissions Transfer Student application process for all requirements and deadlines associated with being admitted to the University.  

There is NO SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION for Fall 2023 admission to the LVN to BSN. Your Cal State Apply application will be used to identify that you want to be considered for admission to the program.  

Step Two

No later than March 15th, 2023 

Submit evidence of a valid LVN license to CEHHS Student Services:

What Happens After I Apply? 

Beginning in January 2023 your Cal State Apply application will be used to identify your desire to be considered for admission to the LVN to BSN. Please refer to the CSUSM Office of Admissions Transfer Student application process for all requirements and deadlines associated with being admitted to the University.  

Admissions applications to the LVN to BSN are coordinated by CEHHS Student Services and evaluated using the LVN to BSN Admission Requirements. Applicants are rank ordered by the number of points earned.  

Admission offers to the LVN to BSN will be sent beginning April 1st, 2023. To accept your offer of admission you must submit your CSUSM Intent to Enroll by May 1st, 2023.  

If you are not offered admission to the LVN to BSN you may choose an alternate major at CSUSM. Please contact the CSUSM Office of Admissions for further information.
